Watching from the river bank at one of the rapids, we could hear the guide shouting instructions to the paddlers.  Hunkered over for balance and clutching his oar, the guide shouted, “We’ve got to hit this one fast, so paddle as hard as you can. Go!”   The six passengers in the yellow raft gave it their all. 

The bulky craft hesitated briefly when it hit the wall of water facing them, tilting precariously, then it broke through and picked up speed.  It bucked and tossed through the hydraulics below the rapid giving its passengers a thrilling ride.  At the bottom, paddlers shook the water from their smiling faces, and paused to catch their breath.  They are having a blast.
