I
enjoy all types of photography, with very few exceptions. We live in
rural Idaho and are surrounded by Nature's very best offerings. Wildlife
abounds, and beautiful rivers and woods provide a glorious backdrop. When
the weather is bad, I play in my studio which is stocked with props. We encourage our subjects to bring their favorite
costume and a playful attitude, and to have fun in front of the camera.

Even as a child, my favorite
pastime was drawing or sketching on any piece of paper I could get my
hands on. My love of art developed into a career in the commercial
art field-- fresh out of school-- in the Art
Department of the Times Herald in Washington, DC. By 1952 I was
working in the aerospace industry illustrating the burgeoning effort to
launch into space.
By 1964 I decided to leave the art
business for something more secure while raising my family. When I retired in 1992, I
couldn't wait to go back to my first love---art. But my hands were no longer
steady with brush and pencil, so I took up my camera and began to
capture my images with lens and film.
I didn't even hesitate when the
digital boom came along--I went digital, bought a computer, and learned
how to use Photoshop. Now I am truly back in the business of
creating the images that are in my imagination and I love it! It's
just like being back in the art business.
My wife is a writer, and
together we travel and freelance stories for
magazines. It has been genuinely rewarding and we have met many
interesting people and had a lot of fun adventures along the way.
